the good stuff

Some days are just good days.

Maybe it was the warm sunlight streaming through my bedroom window early this morning. Maybe it was Ryan's little sleepy snuggle as he crawled into bed next to me. Maybe it was Jacob's full body hug. Or the coffee...

Likely, it was all of these things combined, plus the fact that I had nowhere to be this morning.

The neat thing about me being in a good mood is that any little people with me tend to be in a good mood at the same time. Obviously not a coincidence, just a happy fact.

So, Ryan and I had a great morning together, and I snapped some pictures of the things that made me happy.

In no particular order...

The dogs. The drive me nuts with the fur and the barking, but I honestly cannot imagine a home without dogs in it. Big old Chewy is almost 12 years old. (He's not dead, though he appears to be quite often. I've checked for breath many times.)

Piles of clean, folded laundry. One of my least favorite chores, but so satisfying when it's done.

The artwork Ryan and I created this morning. He found the package of animal stickers I had gotten a long time ago for some project and wanted to use them. So, we took paper and he directed me to draw a scene for the animals: trees, grass, rocks, water, sun... The monkeys in the tree, from left to right are Uncle Brett, Gramma Jojo, Daddy, Mommy, Jacob and Ryan.

This is the one that Ryan drew all by himself. I love that he made sure each and every zebra had grass to eat. The animals that are upside down are sleeping on the rocks.

The newest art gallery installation.

Little boy paintings on my walls.

The Buffalo fridge magnets that magically rearrange themselves when I'm not looking...

More little boy paintings.

Grampa is always here.
