I haven't posted anything here in a while.
It's not that there haven't been things to talk about...probably more that there are too many things to talk about and somehow there's not enough time left over to write about them, too.
This afternoon, the little boys and I went outside in the yard to play for a few minutes before naptime. It had been cloudy and cold all morning. I think it may have even rained a little. But as soon as we went out, the clouds disappeared and the sun came out.
I happened to be on the phone with my Dad, chatting about all sorts of things.
Sitting there in the sun, watching the little boys riding through the garden on their 4-wheelers, laughing, talking on the phone...I felt one of those really happy moments. The kind where you remember that life is good and there are little miracles all around you.
And being me, I had my camera out. So, here are the little miracles that surrounded me today.
This little guy is so funny lately...
And this one can seem so grown up and so little, all at the same time.
This guy will be 10 this year. Oh how I love this dog. (I love the other one, too, but he was licking his butt in the picture.)
I've been considering pulling this giant cactus out since it's not really a great plant when you have kids. Then it goes and does this.
The sunflowers that Jake and I planted are beginning to bloom!
And I always wonder...does everyone find seeds so amazing? I get so excited when I see them do this. It's like magic.
This kid seems to get it.
I love, love, love that he goes out to check the garden with me. He was so excited to see the little tiny sprouts. Yesterday, he saw that some of the beans had sprouted and he screamed, "Mom! They're growing! We have to hurry up and give them some water to keep them healthy!" He gets it :)
I needed this reminder today.
