Holko House, Day 9

Saturday was quite a day over here. I am so impressed by the work that was accomplished (no thanks to me).

We already had the jackhammer. The goal was to bust up and remove the concrete slab that used to be out patio. Not a fun job on one of the hottest days so far this summer, but we assembled a fantastic team.

Ken, Ali, Brett and Sarah all showed up to help. Susan helped out by taking Jacob for the day. I participated by bringing food and drinks to the crew. I feel bad that I couldn't do more to help.

Everyone took a turn with the jackhammer. And not to diminish the jackhammering that anyone else did, I think we could all agree that Ali is a MACHINE. He ran that thing for what seemed like 8 hours straight. Awesome.

We are SO lucky to have such great family and friends here. I can't imagine if Ben and I had tried to do this ourselves. No way would it look like this after just ONE day!

So, this week we work on drawings to re-submit at some point. We still have a lot of digging/grading to do, and then that's about all we really can do before we get a permit for this project (yes, of course you should have a permit to even sneeze loudly in your yard, but whatever).
