My assistant and I worked on putting together some parts for a new hive this afternoon. We assembled a new bottom board, then painted it along with an inner cover.
The assistant chose a lovely light green color that looks suspiciously like my kitchen walls.
Once these parts are dry, we will head up to the roof and put a new hive together up there. My plan is to get more bees when they are available in the spring from local apiaries and set up two new hives. Since I already had almost a complete hive ready, I figured we would just set it up and see if any free bees move in!
