What in the world does one do with hundreds (not exaggerating) of lemons? I hate to just leave them on the tree...it just seems so wasteful.
I've been trying to think of ways to use these delicious-smelling gifts covering my tree. Here are a few (Jacob thought up a few of these):
- cargo to haul in dump trucks
- dog toys to throw around the yard
- garbage disposal cleaners
- pond decorations (they do look lovely floating in there)
- centerpieces on tables
- yard fresheners (they smell delightful when run over by the lawnmower)
Here was my effort for today:

Sugar cookies with lemon frosting. We were going to have some friends over this afternoon and I realized I had no snacks to offer. I absolutely cheated and made the cookies from a package of cookie mix (I've honestly never done this before...and now wonder why?) but did make the frosting. It is so yummy. But really, could butter, sugar, and lemon juice possibly taste bad?

I want the lemon frosting recipe ;)
Lemon drops! Margaritas! Anything with alcohol. :)
ReplyDeleteSome fresh squeezed lemonade sounds good to me. Erin, lemon squares are Ken's most favorite dessert. When he and Betsy come out you'll have to whip up a pan IF you have time.
