We are finally getting bids back from some contractors! We had 4 (or was it 5?) guys out to look at the plans and the site, and we've heard back from 2 of them so far. I figure if we hear from just one more, not only is that a pretty good percentage as far as contractor response rates, but it will also give us a pretty good idea about fair prices, etc.
I hope to have hired someone by the end of the week.
And then the fun begins. Sort of. I honestly cannot think of a worse time to rip off the back wall of our house and have workers in and out all day. We have some special visitors coming in just over a week ( I can't wait to see Carleigh!!!), and you know, the whole bringing home a new baby thing. Oh yeah, and it's getting colder out (a mixed blessing, really). But, if we don't do it now...I'm not sure when it will actually be a good time. It WAS a good time to start on this 4 months ago when we began the process. Oh well. Like I said to mom yesterday, I have to try to be thankful that we HAVE a house and that we are able to do this addition. Focus on the positive. And if you read this, please feel free to remind me of this when I start complaining.
