Holko House - Patio

Finally! We are working on putting the yard back together. I cannot imagine how this would ever have been done without my Dad's help.

We started by moving and fixing the sprinkler system (a job I was really dreading). Dad did it all. And made it seem incredibly easy.

Next step was to add gravel to raise the patio level up. We moved about 5 yards of gravel from the driveway to the backyard via wheelbarrow. Thank God Jake helped.

Then came the sand. Another yard and a half to shovel into wheelbarrows and haul to the backyard.
And then the stone...I'm not sure how many tons of stone this is, but there are 1000 pieces. To move to the backyard. By hand. More specifically, my hands and my Dad's hands. This is not all of it...
I didn't take a picture tonight before it got dark to mark our progress in the laying of the stones, but we got maybe about a third of it done. It looks great.

  1. I'm jealous that you have such a willing workforce. Please post the patio in it's finished form. Can't wait to see it! Will you help me design my front yard if I send you a photo?
