I will post more on this later, I'm sure...but I just wanna say out loud "I BELIEVE IN SANTA."
Something absolutely magical happens this time of year. I LOVE it. And I suppose I already knew it would be way more fun with a little person to enjoy it with, but having Jacob around has made it so much more OK for an adult to bounce up and down on the couch awaiting Santa at the end of the Macy's parade. Yes, I almost had tears in my eyes I was so excited about seeing Santa. It just brought back so many beautiful memories of Christmases past, memories that are so centered around my family, and happiness and togetherness. I'm so thankful that THOSE are the memories that come welling up when I see Santa, or Christmas lights, or, well, anything having to do with Christmas. Lord knows not every Christmas has been merry and bright, but apparently I have selective memory, because it's the special ones I choose to remember.
I simply cannot wait to see Jacob running into the house on Christmas Eve, screaming at me to get in bed because "SANTA IS COMING!!!" To this day, I don't know what Bri, Mick and I saw that night, but I'm pretty sure it was Santa's sleigh following Rudolph's very shiny nose. And that memory might be my most favorite of all...
The night you saw Santa was one of the best memories of mine as well.
ReplyDeleteLOVE you,
These are the best years!!!! Savory every moment.
